Wells Fargo launches the Innovation Incubator (IN2) program, a $10 million environmental grant for clean technology startups funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation and co-administered by the Energy Department’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to foster the development of early stage clean technologies for commercial buildings. IBM Innovation Incubator Program led and managed by Invest Ottawa at Bayview Yards, made possible through a partnership with Ontario Centres of Excellence, IBM Canada and Invest Ottawa – is part of the IBM Innovation Incubator Project. Announced in 2016, the project is helping small- and medium-sized enterprises fast-track the launch of new technologies and products to international clients by leveraging IBM's technical resources including IBM Cloud. www.janesvilleinnovation.com This 22,000 sq. ft. facility has 17,600 sq. ft. of manufacturing/distribution space divided into four suites. These range from 3,800 sq. ft. to 5,400 sq. ft,, all of which can be subdivided. The facility also has nine offices ranging in size from 178 sq. ft to 328 sq. ft. A conference and break rooms are also available to facility tenants. Monthly office rents include utilities, common area, Internet and office furniture. Rents for manufacturing spaces include access to the common areas and Internet. Utilities are separate.
Hackathons are no longer for coders, as it was a full house at Chitkara Innovation Incubator with 45 young and vibrant entrepreneurs participated in this 12-hour long 'Business Idea Hackathon'. A mix of people with very diverse skill sets were seen collaborating their ideas with experienced mentors refining their pitches and prototypes throughout the day.
